Mike Bocock, Baseball Coach
Coach Bocock has coached baseball at most levels. He has built successful programs in Virginia, at Stonewall Jackson High School and Harrisonburg High School, and in Florida at Citrus High School and Desoto County High School. While at Chowan College, he posted one of the best records in the school’s history with 38 wins and 8 losses. Mike is currently the head coach of the Luray Wranglers, a member of the NCAA-sanctioned Valley Baseball League. He is the most winning coach of all time in the Valley, with over 500 career wins. During this time he has accumulated ten league pennants and six President’s Cup Championships, including his most recent in 2008.

Mike Bocock is a 1981 graduate of Bridgewater College and Turner Ashby High School where he played for Ray Heatwole. He then went on to received his masters degree from the University of Florida. To Coach Bocock’s credit, he has had over 180 of his players continue their playing careers into professional baseball, both at the minor and major league level, including his nephew Brian Bocock. Brian was a member of the 2005 Luray Wranglers and was drafted in the 9th round of the 2006 Amateur Draft by the San Francisco Giants. Another nephew, Justin Miller, played collegiately at Ohio State University and is currently an assistant at his alma mater. Recently Mike married Martha Armstrong, mother of Andrew Armstrong, who is currently a left-handed pitcher on the Ohio State Buckeyes pitching staff.
